A Message from Ford CEO Jim Hackett | Ford

From the helm of the Ford Motor Company, our CEO, Jim Hackett is proud to be part of a family business legacy that, for generations, has served devoted customers and employed proud professionals. We feel a deep sense of responsibility to take care of each other, especially during times of crisis, like the current pandemic. This essay focuses on our efforts to support our employees, dealers, customers, and the communities we serve in Corpus Christi, Portland, Robstown, Aransas Pass, Rockport, Kingsville, Sinton, Port Aransas, Ingleside, and Alice, Texas.

Deep-rooted Service Tradition and Contemporary Solutions

Our factories around the world paused their operations in regions heavily impacted by COVID-19; our main priority being the welfare of our Ford and Lincoln employees. We are reminded of the resilience we demonstrated more than 75 years ago when we switched production lines from producing Ford coupes to B-24 bombers during World War II. Today, two generations later, we are proud to say that the very same spirit is alive; the descendants of those patriotic workers are now producing ventilators to aid healthcare workers battling this deadly disease.

In association with GE Healthcare, Ford has committed to manufacturing 50,000 ventilators within the next 100 days, followed by another 30,000 each subsequent month. We are working closely with 3M to increase respirator production by ten-fold, and have already assembled and proudly delivered more than 3 million face shields to healthcare workers, and police and fire departments throughout the U.S. This is just the beginning: we are expanding our production to include face masks and re-usable gowns for healthcare workers.

Customer Service Par Excellence

Recognizing the financial struggles many of our customers may be facing, Ford Credit is offering flexible options through our 'Built to Lend a Hand' program. We are proud and inspired by many of our Ford customers who have stepped up to the plate, with first responder fleets and Ford trucks delivering medical supplies and maintaining essential services — you truly are the backbone of our communities, and we are here to support you.
